The Message from the Chairperson
The Board consists of thirteen members that are appointed by the Minister of Education and Sports drawn from the Constituencies involved in health training, stakeholders and professionals representing disciplines. Representation is one member per institution and is as follows:
a) Representative from Universities (Faculty of Medicine)
b) Representative of Tutors of paramedical schools
c) Outstanding Allied Health Professional who has made a significant
contribution to the health profession
d) Representative of the private for profit paramedic schools
e) Directorate of Industrial training
f) Uganda Allied Health Professions Council
g) Ministry of Education
h) Ministry of Health
i) Uganda National Examinations Board
j) Representative of the Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau
k) Representative of the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau
l) Representative of the Uganda Muslim Medical Bureau
These members oversee the smooth running of the Board and from time to time come up with decisions/ policies that create a basis for implementation by the Secretariat.
Secretariat
This is the implementation arm of the Board and is headed by the Executive Secretary. The secretariat has several departments which include: Administration, Finance, Examinations and Procurement.
